A dear friend held her sweet mom in her arms as she passed last night.  As these previous weeks have held the truth that this passing was coming, I have contemplated the Jewish traditions for mourning while I have prayed for them both.

I wonder why, since Christianity is Jewish, that we do not hold such traditions?  It seems they are so rich, so helpful.  You can read of the significant mourning traditions here, if you do not know them already.

As you feel Led, please pray for my friend, Alison.  Our connection to our parents defines us in so many ways; its loss requires a lengthy adjustment.
